IJʿ is celebrating being recognised as an Excellence Awardee for ‘Prime Super Principal of the Year – Non-Government’ and ‘Boarding School of the Year’ at the annual Australian Education Awards in Sydney.

Under Mr Daniel Crump’s leadership, the school has been acknowledged for his initiatives to create transformational change within our school – building a community of parents, staff and all 700 students to optimise the success of every child, as well as guiding outstanding student results with a 5% increase in pupils with an ATAR of 90+ (10% above the State average) and doubling the award of VET certifications.

The Boarding House, led by Dean of Boarding, Jane Morris, is home to over 120 students from rural and remote Queensland, New South Wales, Dubai, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Papua New Guinea. We are very proud of this significant recognition, and it is a testament to Janes leadership with a 25% increase in boarding enrolments and the completion of a $6 million investment in redeveloping the Boarding House, which is situated in the 100-year-old, heritage-listed Renard Building, to provide enviable accommodation and modern facilities for our Boarders.

“We are dedicated to pro-actively building meaningful connections with both current and prospective students and their families while also working with the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) to help rural and remote children access the education and opportunities they deserve,” said Mr Daniel Crump.

“Our Boarding community fosters a genuine sense of family, belonging and inclusiveness; with the girls developing lifelong friendships during their education journey,” followed Ms Jane Morris.
